Think Tank???

Whoo Hoo.... Partial lineup for this years Summer Sonic festival was announced!!! Ermm.... RADIOHEAD IS FUCKING PLAYING!!!!!! (I'm sure the font shows how happy I am.) I couldn't be happier. Man... Life is good. Other bands include... Blink 182, BLUR, THE DATSUNS, The Doors, JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION, MEW, New Found Glory, PLACEBO, THE POLYPHONIC SPREE, THE RAPTURE, Rooney and Starsailor. Odd combination huh? Radiohead and Rooney??? Right... I really wanted to see The Rapture so I'm a happy camper. Still no sign of Coldplay. Maybe they are playing Fuji Rock??? Other bands that should play either Summer Sonic or Fuji ... BK & Adam Green, Beck, The Coral, OK Go, The Libertines (preferably a longer set that last time), Longwave, Hot Hot Heat, The Vines, The Blood Brothers, Ben Folds, Vaux, Ash, Primal Scream, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ladytron, Air..... I can name more but I guess I'll most of these bands at Coachella.

I watched the "Welcome to Japan, Jamie Oliver" show today. It was funny. I really need to head down to his restaurant, sometime this week. Jamie is sooo adorable although he's a bit on the chubby side recently. I wasn't sure about his yellow suit either. The baby blue suit he wore for his wedding was awesome though. Awww.... I wish he was my dad though I wouldn't ant to be named Poppy. haha. Anyways, drummers that cook rock my world.

I turned on the telly this morning and Hot Hot Heat was on!!!! Weee... On that note, I must remember to watch The Music Live on telly tommorrow.

In the Cold, Cold Night

Aww... Meg White is soo cute. I couldn't resist going to the record store anymore today cos obviously I spend too much money there.... Anyways, I listened to "Elephant" and it was brilliant. It's still garagy and blusey and a bit punky. Great stuff. I can see why NME called it the "OK Computer" of our times. Apparently it's been out for week here now... which I didn't know. I didn't buy it today but I'll def. buy it before I leave. I bought "The Truth Is No Words" and Mando Diao's album. Mando Diao's album is tres brilliant. I thought it was funny how they called them a mix b/w The Hives and oasis. They're more like a mix b/w The Strokes, Paul Weller and The Beatles I'd say. I bet the only reason they called them The Hives is because they're Swedish. whatever. I found sooo many CD's that I wanted. I figured I'd make a list so I won't forget...

So, I went and saw Feeder yesterday @ Club Quattro which is one of favorite venues in Tokyo cos it's nice and tiny. It was a quality show. I enjoyed it. Grant Nicholls has a sexy, sexy voice, although nothing beats Kelly Jones Stereophonics' voice despite the songs... Comfort in Sound...

I really want to go see 24 Hour Party People. Michael Winterbottom is brill.

So, I actually might stay longer in Japan due to the war which kinda sucks but is tres cool cos then I get to see the Beckster. :)

He's Got the Whole World In His Hands...

I watched Con Air yesterday for a study break. I love Steve Buchemi. He is so ridiculously brilliant.

But there is soooo much more coming my way this week. I think I'll be dead by the end of the week but I get to go home real soon which is very exciting. I pulled out my old old Ben Folds Five album out yesterday and I've been playing it for quite a bit. I never realized how brilliant they were. I would die to see the triple Ben tour in Australia with Ben Folds, Ben Kweller and Ben Lee. lovely.

Ummm and Beck is playing at the Liquid Room the day after I leave Tokyo. I am terribly mad.

I just finished watching Requiem for a Dream for the 10 millionth time. It made me cry for the first time as well. Damn the Sundance channel for always distracting me when I need to do work. But I just HAD to watch it. Anyways, I think I'll write a page or so of my paper and go to bed. Have a good sleep a la Hot Hot Heat.

Time to bust out the soundtrack. Yeah so I caught like the last 20 min of Ghost World. You have no idea how much I love this film. I'm such a HUGE procrastinator. Anyways, Enid Coleslaw and Rebecca Doppelmeyer. What kind of a name is that? These people must have been high when they wrote this. Whatever though cos it's brilliant. Maybe I'm just weird but I am def. attracted to Seymour. It's so true what Enid says. You don't find guys like that but I can't really talk cos I love the pretentious, pseudo-intellectual, attention whore-ish band boys. (not saying that all of them are but...)

Juliana Theory show was great! The set was really short though, I wish they'd play more. I was standing on the left side cos I knew Kosker is always stage right . I'm glad I got a good spot although I came somewhat late. Damn, Vish Tech. Well, Christian seemed to like mine so that was cool. Anyways, I think they pretty much played the set that they've been playing on this tour. Poor Brett's voice was dying so I gave him a get well soon hug. He said he'd rather be sick then not be able to sing. I talked to Kosker for quite a bit. He's really chill and has pretty eyes. (yes, it's all about the pretty eyes.) And he said that my bag was cool. The pictures should be up sometime later today.

Am currently listening to Jag Tune by The Music. I'm soo mad that I can't see them! (yes, I'm going to be complaining about this for a while.) And you know what makes it worth? The Coral is playing the next nite! Yeah, seriously. I bet they are going to have a HUGE pot smoking/footie party. Man..... I'm gonna listen to The Streets now. At least I get to see Mike.
