You Don't Need to Emerge...
I love Fischerspooner. They are fucking hilarious even though I only got to here a tiny bit of their show. Anyways, I'm really into synth pop. This weekend was awesome. I had a really good time despite the fact that I am tired as hell and my shoulders are hella burned (and I mean burned). I was asleep through most of the film that we saw this morning in class.... Okay so the schedule didn't really work as I wanted it to.... Well so here's how it went.
Saturday. Got in at like 2 pm and played footie for a while. Went to see Ben Kweller. While walking toward BK's stage, saw the guys from rooney walking around. Saw Lizzy backstage, too. aww. BK played like a 30-40 min set mostly songs from album. fun stuff. I'm sure he must have been hot. afterwards, go get water and see n.e.r.d. they were pretty good. kelly osbourne got on stage for one of their songs. go to see felix da housecat. dance for a few minutes and go to libertines autograph session. spent waaay to much time there talking to them listening to the hives in the back. therefore was late to hot hot heat. but sound check wasn't going too well and they hadn't started playing. i think it was steve's keyboards. had to see them from the side, although i eventually moved up to the front. there were a lot more people there than i expected. apparently, cameron diaz & jared leto were there watching hhh. afterwards, the entire crowd left. erm, hello people the music are playing after this???? anyways, i got up to the very front between adam and rob. the sound check people were taking forever. this leads to the libertines tradgedy afterwards. they played a 40-45 min set. the sound kinda sucked. will elaborate later. next up, ladytron. erm.... we were standing there for like 90 min while the stupid people were trying to set up their equipment. what the fuck??? everyone was getting sooo pissed off. they played a pretty long set. they were really good except for the fact that the sound was kinda off. i danced my ass off. off to eat. ate while listening to the beastie boys. they started talking about the war and it was too much so went off to see groove armada. aahhh. their show was awesome. danced my ass off again as i squeezed my way to the front for the libertines. yay, finally the libertines!! started out with horroshow. the sound was sooo fucked up that you could bearly hear peter's voice. people were booing them for that as well. some british guy was like go fuckin' home. some girl was like you fuckin' go home. it was just disasterous. i felt sooo bad for them. i could tell peter was getting hella pissed off. played up the bracket. and to make things even worse, the fucking mic dies. peter just throws the mic down and storms off. i thought that he was pissed cos of the projetion of the mic. well, turns out the cops rush in to tell us that the power's been cut. what the fuck is that? so, their set was moved to the next day. everyone was sooo pissed off that a mini riot took place. i was in such a crappy mood after this but fun things happened afterwards that it evened it out.
sunday. got up early and went shopping. go to coachella. watch whirlwind heat. they are SUCH a goood live band. i can see why jack is in love with them. eat, play footie, watched films, eat, etc. the libertines played and their show was FUCKING awesome. aaahhhh, peter & carl so sessy. as a matter of fact, they are sex. i think them and interpol qualify as my best acts that day. i wish they'd do a show in LA soon. they are hilarious and such sweet guys. i love 'em and carl has the prettiest eyes. go see primal scream. awww.... bobby is soooooooooo HOT and their show was amazing, man. danced my arse off again. run to see the white stripes. the sound was soooooo horrible when they started but i think they were one of the best bands i saw that day. meg white is sooo adorable when she's playing the drums. i was dying b/c there were sooo many people there. eat, saw elijah wood, footie, lay in the grass, go see underworld for a bit. danced a little bit and went off to the outdoor stage to see interpol. caught a bit of the blue man group. wedged my way to the front for interpol. during aound check, my friend called me to let me listen to fischerspooner. it was great, i wish i could have seen them live. i was so excited to interpol, they were the one band that i was looking forward to see this whole festival. they played a fairly long set. and you thought that Paul had a sessy voice on the CD. wait till you see them live. omg, i was literally about to faint from his voice and him in general. awww... seeing interpol live is the best feeling ever. esp. because it was at nite and outside too. so pretty. i don't know what it is, they are just an awesome band. paul..... i fancy paul a lot. well, the lovely day ended with hearing the lovely paul crooning under the stars. oh, man, i love interpol. i wish i lived in ny so i could see them every other week and i wish my name was stella. stellaaaaa..... oh stellaaaaaaaa.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
I saw the original trailer for Gone With the Wind and my first Western film, "Stagecoach" I believe in class. It actually wasn't that bad. John Wayne is a hottie. I used to make fun of classical Hollywood films but after I took this class, I seem to appreciate it more but I still prefer European films.... And frankly my dear, I don't give a shit about school at this point. Fuck Errki's midterm. I mean, I like the man but his class is boring... It's all about Daniel.
I re-did The Music site. yeah. I think it looks more organized.
Apparently, Winona Ryder ate Conor Oberst. She's eaten a lot of musicians I must say.... Beck.....

I am Beautiful...
So, the lovely Ben Lee played here today. I missed about half the show but I still got to hear his rendition of "Beautiful" by Christina Hoguilera. Not a lot of people were there so I sat around afterwards (yes, I did have class...) and I talked to him for a while. He seemed like a really nice chap. Though, I thought the mere fact that he was wearing striped green socks and a Pet Shop Boys shirt made him cool. I showed him my lovely BK illustrated bag and he decided to add on to it. It was very cute. He was like, if you get Ben Folds to drawon it the, it'll be the official The Bens illustrated bag. haha. Speaking of The Bens, they are planning on recording an actual album and they'll hoepfully be touring together around November. The kid is def. not cute but just who he is makes him an adorable person. I can also see why Claire Danes and him have been dating for so long. Aww... cuteness. And no he's not going to Coachella. Can I just tell you I jealous I am of my friends who went to see The Libertines in Tokyo???? First of all, they did a cover of "Dreaming of You" and the second nite in Tokyo, Carl was on stage w/ his lovely plaid skirt. Lines from CQ. Not the best film ever but not exactly the worst. I had the video of it at home but I never got around to watching it for some reason. The fear of it being boring and the fear from me liking it a lot despite the horrid criticism it received when it came out. I guess it happens to the best of us. But alas, the Sundance channel has done it again. I felt that a lot of things were missing but I don't know what.... Perhaps it tried too hard to be both commercial and independent but the content certainly is. I like Roman's style. The man himself still remains a mystery to me though. Paul reminded me of Spike Jonze. I love Paul's character, maybe because he's a lot like me in a lot of ways. I wish there were boys that were like him. And I wish I knew boys like that. I've met about one but he is an artist not a filmmaker. I wish my Paul looked like this.

I just got this wireless mouse. I'm testing it out. It's kinda cool and fun. Good for drawing on the computerly. Reminds me that I still have to do the cube assignment.

I watched "The Man Who Wasn't There" for the thrid time the other day. I love Scarlet Johanssen's voice and The Coen Brothers are brill.

Lovely review of The Vines show on the LA weekly. To sum it up for you. The Vines (main act)=suck. The Music (supporting act)=awesome.

I'm Only Sleeping...
Well, I wish but I have a paper thingie due for my film class tomorrow. Hey, today was my first day of class too! I sat in the James Bridges Theater from 9am to like 5pm. Yeah, it's great. That's what happens when you take 4 hour long film classes in a row. I really should be writing this paper but oh, well, I'm a huge procrastinator. I'll be up till the wee hours of the night.
I'm suddenly liking Interpol a lot for some reason. hmmm... Am I turning into a hipster? ...horror...

I LOVE BECK HANSEN
Beckster 2 days in a row = Heaven on earth
The set was a big jumble of old to new to cover songs. It was SUCH a good show though. The acoustic show yesterday was SOOO good but I kinda liked today's set better just cos it was more fun. sjhefiuwefhkajfdlkkjerhqw. BECK ROCKS MY WORLD.
Okay, so I heard 4 songs off the so-called "The Bens" EP. You're probably thinking who the hell are The Bens??? None other than the lurverly Ben Kweller, Ben Folds and Ben Lee. It's really good plus it's BK's drum debut. I always said I had a thing for drummers and now that I found out BK plays the drums, he's #3 on my fave drummer list. haha. The kids is just amazing. Just a thought.... BK and Ben Folds are both playing Coachella. If Ben Lee joins in..... hmm.... Apparently, he's playing at my school for free. Wee.
