and we live on borrowed time, but this headshot's pretty good. i've been scheming for too long, i was starstruck by your mom.

words of brilliance by mr. green. everyone go buy the new album!!! even though i can't find it anywhere. haha.

the libbies are playing FUJI!!!!!! WTF???????

my new love, bryce avary of the rocket summer is doing an instore gig-sy prior to summer sonic. weee.....

radio 1 has pic-sys of the glastonbury madness. mikey streets was wearing a shirt which said "will fuck for coke." v. classy, eh?

but the people at radio 1 are so smart that they can't even get the names of the coral right. magic and medicine comes out on the 21st. yay. no follow the sun tho.

yes, longwave on sept. 2. no, ok go.

i went and saw an andy warhol exhibition the other day. i loved how the place was set up, etc. i had seen most of his work before so i wasn't too anxious to see it. but, there was this little room covered in aluminum foil where they were showing a footage from various screen tests that andy had done and it had very interesting people in it. the music that went along w/ it like the who, lou reed and whatnot was awesome too. so i sat there for like half an hour cos it was so terrific and i reall liked the aluminum room. i think today was the last day and they are doing a patti smith exhibition next which i'm def. going to see. maybe she'll come visit. that'll be really cool.

y'know, i've been wondering how michel gondry did the kylie minogue viddy for over 5 months now. it's about time someone told me.....

pic of the day: junior senior - they have the cutest website.

will people stop talking about tatu? i really don't care.

    bring 'em in!!!!!

the mando diao madness is here. crazyness. i love how emi promotes their bands..... and yes i'm being sarcastic. but i do want to go to the secret gig-sy = i need to buy another copy of their album = i have no money. the gig-sy is at astro hall = the size of your closet. and the music's secret gig-sy last year was at the same place. and they are a fellow emi label mate. whatever happened to that dvd they were supposed to release?

i watched one hour photo today. mark romanek. yes, i do love his music viddys. my recent favorite being the rhcp can't stop viddy. very impressive for his first feature. i especially enjoyed the lighting as well as the cinematography. being the sick person i am, i loved the blood & eye sequence. michael vartan was in it too which was a bonus and the kid who played his son was tres cute. i have to go see tape w/ ethan hawke. the director likes working w/ him, eh?

my dad thinks thom yorke looks like he's mentally retarted. yeah, that's not very nice. thom is a little genious.

Pic of the Day: Ben Folds - aww....

Song o' the Day: punk rock princess (acoustic) by something corporate - andrew loves ben folds.

    Danger! Danger! High Voltage!

    England 2 - 1 Slovakia
so i watched the slovakia vs england footie match for euro 2004 today. wasn't really impressed in general but they did win, so that's good. eriksson was testing out rooney and i think he'll become a great player once he has enough experience. dude, the kid is 17. he's younger than me. it wasn't a really good day for owen but he scored a hattrick but one of them was called off cos it was an offside. and it soooo wasn't. lame. i dunnno what to think of him cos he's not persistent. he's brilliant sometimes and horrible the rest. he needs to be in that certain position/situation to score as well. my love, alan smith was not in the line up. that was sad. scholes wasn't doing too well either. i like scholes, he's usually great. he's one of the few real aggressive players on the team. i think smith and rooney will add to that aggressiveness once they get goin. and i couldn't believe gerard didn't score that one time. anyways, enough rambling.

so i was trying to figure out who i'm going to see at summer sonic cos i have nothing better to do. yeah.

    8/3/03 (sun)
    rooney - indoor stage
    the rapture - indoor stage
    mando diao - indoor stage
    interpol - indoor stage
    stereophonics - outdoor stage
    the strokes - outdoor stage
    radiohead - outdoor stage

see how easy was that? nicely split down the middle but the dilemma is on saturday.

    8/2/03 (sat)
    mew or the star spangles
kings of leon or hot hot heat
    the kills - indoor stage
    blur or travis or devo

see this sucks. i wish it was more spread out cos there's no one i remotely want to see during the middle of the day. i really want to see mew but i do like the star spangles..... and i've seen both kol and hhh before but i want to see them both again.... but i think i'll have to stick to hhh. or run off in the middle to go see kol cos i promised caleb. and the the biggest dilemma is which headliner to see.... i missed blur for hhh at coachella so i'm obliged to see them but i really want to see devo cos they're fucking awesome and i don't think they'll be touring anymore. i really need to get me an energy dome. haha. and travis cos i've never seen them live and their new albumy comes out soon. but there are more bands obviously playing the outdoor stage so i don't really know how the time table will work out... maybe the other stages end earlier in that case i may be able to see devo and travis. and apparently, the rocket summer is playing and i really want to see him as well.....and i'm thinking he'll be added to the earlier slots for the indoor stage on sat.

i love jan svankmajer. i need to see more of his work.

Song o' the Day: California Waiting by Kings of Leon

Little Mona Lisa laying by my side
    "Crimson and Clover" pullin overtime
Seem too close to be losin touch
By givin in, what am I givin up
Am I losin way too much

    Hey California waiting
Every little things gotta be just right
    Say
While youre tryin to save me
Cant I get back my lonely life

Im goin so fast that I cant slow down
Its hard to get up when youre spinnin round and round
Id tell you the news but nothins changed
Id sing you a song but they blew it away
All wrapped up in this stupid ass game

    Hey California waiting
Every little things gotta be just right
    Say
While youre tryin to save me

and i don't mean i don't love you.... when i put a gun to your face......

OMG!!!!! people go see the new adam green viddy at his website. it's genious. it's nothing special but it's genious. i'm in love with it. i love the nonsensical yet somewhat intelligent thingamigie that he pulls and puts together as music and art. it's so cheesy and cheap but that's what's so great about it. like spike's earlier stuff. it's so great. i'm def. walking around with that skeleton thingie on my arm. haha. oh and his viddys always invlove eating. adam green is a natural born genious.

p.s. he really looks like jules from the strokes in the shots w/ him in the yellow shirt. aww... he's so purty!!!!
p.p.s i also love the little dance he does on the bed. hehe.

the whirlwind heat webby sitey has new pic-sys up by terry richardson. they are tres cute.

the mando diao viddy for the band is so funny. i can't wait to see them live. it's all about the pants.

pete libbies is still not well. the poor lad. is it true that carl told him to piss off cos he's useless? that's not very nice....

Pic of the Day: Ad Green - nice hairdo. nice teeth. nice eyes. what more could you ask for?

    pete, oh, pete.....

i worry about him sometimes..... lots of commotion w/ the libertines. so, didz from tctc is filling in for him now. excerpt from pete's post....

"I'm so saddenned and confused by recent events, including two deaths in my family, and most peculiar politics occurring between myself the passport office, Banny, various stalkers and obsessives, death threats (including attempted murder on me and a lover, and armed escort from a club)Carlos' promise broken to play at gigs etc - the many things that make up the complete and final full stop inability at present to join any so-called Libertines gigs.
My arms are currently razor bladed to shreds after a horrific night. I tried to leave a certain individuals house, at which point she locked herself in the bathroom. I kicked the door through in a panic to find her chopping herself up. She was hysterical and would not stop. In a blind rage I seized the blade and well, it is all rather disturbing the action I had to take to shut her up (ie show her two could play at that game) Very long night. ("you can fucking say that again, says Nadine")
As ever, a glimpse of Arcadia warms the soul this Clerkenwell morning, as I type away in Fior's bookshop, Exmouth Market, very close to Grimaldi's old gaff where I once lived, many summers ago...
    but that is another story..."

"while I'm here, being as how I havn't used the internet for a week and will not post anything else until babyshambles.com is finally up and running, let me clear a few things up for the benefit of those who sift through the sewage of this forum to glean something to enlighten or inform, rather than to titilate and masage the typer's bone (or booty as the case may be).
Firstly, I am not (nor ever have been) addicted to heroin, crack cocaine, sodomy or any of the other lot currently dripping from my name like doppily glew.
For fucks sake.. I do have a natural bent towards the debauched, the divine and the melancholia tortured of soul, but I am not a sadist, nor a masochist and could never put my own body and soul through such depraved lusts and slavery. To a pipe? To a roll of bacofoil? No ta, soft lad.
I'm sure you lot would be disapointed to observe me in my daily life - just a run of the mill underworld dandy, swaggering through a cloak and dagger pouted lips arcady of pillows and sighs, genius songwriting and the odd fiddle here and there. Snapping every step on the ladder and basking oddly radiant in the very dawn.
Secondly, Carlos does not hate all fans, he just has many an unkind and heartless word to say about the 'internet freaks' who scare him and do his head in because they happen to talk about the band a lot. They're kids, mostly intelligent and well-read Libertines in the making anyway I won't bitch, which is rare in this place so take heed.
Thirdly, the Libertines is (sorry, newcomers) an everchanging, swirling unpredictable monster of a band, and line-ups change as often as I do brogues... not every week but 'don't ever get too comfortable if you're not Carlos or Myself' basically is the rule of things. The boys are not playing Libertines gigs, they're doing their best not to get Banny sued for breaching european gig contracts, and as for Banny...
she promised that the Rabbi would be catered for on this tour... he was dumped at the last minute. Even if I could have made it I would have to have made a stand. Forgive me Rabbi - he is no longer speaking to me so upset is he. An old friend sadly lost, but as usual I take the flak for her negligence and cruelty (poor me)
As for the fall out between Carl and myself... it is a usual tiff, we remain Libertines and best friends for all eternity, we can both assure you."

bluebirds are so natural i wanna buy 'em for my friends...

yeah so i heard songs off of ad green's new albummy. it's terrific. damn the man. hehe.

no worries kids. beckster is a-o-right. from the man's journal. apparently, he made friends w/ hot hot heat. awww......

when blur went on we came back to watch their set. they were getting doused, but still throwing down, and the crowd was getting heavily into it. (I noticed damon was rocking a vocoder as well these days). walking off the stage, a large rather muscled out dude swung around and bodyslammed me in the ribs. it knocked the wind out of me, then I realized my ribs were all swollen. they had a medic check it out and he told me I had to go get an x-ray. unfortunately this was right before we were going on. it turned out to be a bad contusion.

i really want one of these.

Pic of the Day: Ok Go pickin' out games! weee!

Song o' the Day: Happy Togther by The Turtles (yes, i did see adaptation again, that's why)

Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
    So happy together

If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
    So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
    For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
    For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
    So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
    For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
    For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
    So happy together

    Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
    Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
Me and you and you and me

i am clearly still taller than you!

man, i had the best-est weekened ever. i really can't put down in words. you just have to hear it from me. thank you david so much for dealing with my weird drunken self. haha. anyways, since i didn't do anything this weekened (work wise), i have sooooooo much shit to do. considering i have my 3/4 finals this week. what the hell? i really need to get goin'. man. this sucks. but whatever it's almost over. awww...... you are the cutest person in the world. i love you and i miss you. p.s. i really don't think you're that short. i think we are perfect together.

Pic of the Day: Coldplay - the best balding band ever.

Song of the Day: such great heights by the postal service - awww.... this is so our song.

I, im thinking its a sign
that the freckles in our eyes, are mirror images
and when we kiss there perfectly aligned
    and I, have to speculate
that god himself made did make us into corresponding shapes
like puzzle pieces from the clay
and true, it may seem like a stretch
but its thoughts like this that catch my troubled head
when your away, when im missing you to death
when you are out there on the road
    for several weeks of shows
and when you scan the radio
I hope this song will guide you home

they will see us waving from such great heights
    come down now, they'll say
but everything looks perfect from far away
    come down now
    but we'll stay

I tried my best to leave
    this all on your machine
    but the persistant beat
    sounded thin upon listening
and that frankly, will not fly
you will hear the shrillest highest highs
and lowest lows when the windows down
when this is guiding you home

they will see us waving from such great heights
    come down now, they'll say
everything looks perfect from far away
    come down now
    but we'll stay

Radiohead's new album "Hail to the Theif" came out today in Japan. Lucky people. I want to see the album artwork inside. poo. and the video is till awesome.

Hot Hot Heat, Interpol, Blur and the White Stripes are the only good bands playing Weenie Roast. and that's like 4 out of 20 bands. yeah, it's a waste of money.
