how much do you suck if you lose to saddam fussein in a popularity contest?

so i went to see the loverly jeevas today. and yes they were tres loverly. awww..... they sang the way you carry on, have you ever seen the rain?, the saddam fussein song and once upon a time in america acoustic style. andy and dan have such beauuuuutiful voices. i really enjoyed the saddam fussein song. it's really funny. what was even more lovely was i got to talk to crispian's wife who was the nicest, prettiest person on earth. they are sooooo CUTE together. she was taking pictures of the band from the side. i complimented crispian on his lion belt which happened to be andy's. haha. andy has the awesomest clothes. he was like tell me if you know any cool vitage stores, i'm dying to go shopping. he also told me my flower was pretty which made me happy. i have such a thing for drummers. aww.... they are the cutest little band ever. i get to see them tomorrow as well and hopefully they'll come back and do a couple of shows in the winter.

oh and guess what i'm listening to right this moment. the new coral album!!!!!!!! aghhghfalduierla!!!!!! it's sooooooooo fuckin' good. ahhh. these kids are so amazing. i want to marry james skelly. he's soooo fun to talk to since he knows a lot about these really interesting obscure films that only wierd people like him and me see. and i really really like his voice..... although he is a little cocky. anyways, everyone go and buy the new album. my favourite song so far is talkin' gypsy market blues and bill maccai. p.s. ian did draw the pictures on the album cover and i really like the face nick is making on the very first page.

i went and saw mick rock's photo exhibition the other day which happened to be splendid. there were tons of amazing photos of david bowie, lou reed, iggy pop, freddie mercury and whatnot. i liked the sequential photos of bowie putting on make up. i loved the photos of debbie harry. she's soooo purty. it made me want to see blondie at summer sonic..... should i? there were couple of photos of recent bands such as supergrass and yeah yeah yeahs. i didn't know that he did the photo of john cameron mitchell for hedwig. besides the photos, i really liked the collages which were torn up photos of psychedelic colors put together. oh and there was a random photo of kelly osbourne under her dad's photo which was shot like 20 years ago or somethin.

after the exhibition, i went and saw 'tape' which is directed by richard linklater who really likes to work w/ ethan hawke. it was a really funny film. the three actors were great and i think that and the script is what makes this film. because everything takes place in one motel room. i guess this was shot around the time ethan was doing 'training day' but the chracter he plays is the total opposite. ethan is so talented. he acts, writes, directs, draws...... what more could a girl want? but i guess no one beats liam lynch who is like the king of muti-talent land in my world. i really want to see a bear's kiss which was one of the previews prior to the film. it starrs my favourite russian actor/filmmaker sergei bodrov jr. i think it's one the last films he shot before he died.

    great quotes from 'tape'

Vin: Do you have any idea how much those drugs cost?
Amy: You can get more drugs.
Vin: I know... but, I really liked those ones.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vince: What you think I'm a dick?
Jon: Uh, no. But I do know that occasionally you have a tendency to act in a phallic fashion.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jon: Since when are you all high and mighty?
Vin: I'm not high and mighty. I'm too high to be high and mighty.

there was an interview in cut magazine with the spike-ster and he, michel gondry and chris cunningham will be releasing a dvd of their works together which is sooooo exciting. there also was a drawing that adrain tomine did for the film.

p.s. the rain band is my new favourite band from madcheter.

erm... first of all he's doing a show in LA!!!!!!, second of all he's opening for the libbies regardless of the pete-less situatuion. fuck, fuck, fuck. he better do an actual tour in the fall. or else..... anyways, if anyone goes and sees him at this joyous occasion, tell him that i think he has nice teeth and that he should let me live w/ his parents who live near carnegie hall.

just tell me that you'll dance at the end...

awww..... i love the thrills. conor has such a beautiful voice. awwww.... i could listen to him forever. i just realized that he's wearing a yellow ucla sweatshirt in the big sur viddy. i have to get me one when i go back.... actually jamie oliver was wearing one as well but his was baby blue. anyways, i heart cute california inspired irish bands.

i got really bored today so i went on my little ad making spree. i made ads for adam and kings of leon's new albums. yes, i know i'm a really big dork. i felt like not making them in english so i made them in japanese, cos it's the only other language i know disregarding my terrific french skills. haha. anways, i like the font i used for kol's. i think i should have put more thought on adam's though. i'm e-mailing them to everyone i know here so they'll go and buy their albums although it does have false information that i just randomly put up there.

i'm really tired now so i guess i'll go to sleep...

song of the day: big sur by the thrills - awwww......

Quit acting so friendly. Don't nod don't laugh all nicely. Don't think you'll up-end me. Don't sigh, don't sip your iced-tea. And don't say, "It's been a while..." And don't flash that stupid smile.

the new ok go viddy is very ok go and very cute. i love the funny faces andy makes. but nothing beats the hilarious c-c-c-c-c-c-c cinnamon lips viddy.

so i have been tres busy...... and it's not cool. but i did go see charlie's angels hoping that the fabster would be in it. apparently not. that was kinda dissapointing. rather there were tons of other random people in it. drew was tres tres cute though. the lovely jules has lost some weight and now looks exactly like ad green. anyways, i also saw cypher which is a film by Vincenzo Natali, who did CUBE. it was fantastic. i loved the editing of the film, which was beyond words. and the set design was excellent. there was an interview w/ him in the special features sec of the dvd and he is this really dorky-ly cute man. he's really kinda awkward but i liked the awkwardness. his sketches were great too. i liked how he was like there was nothing that really struck me as an interesting film that i wanted to see so i went and made one that i did want to see. he smiled really big after that and for some reason i fell off the couch laughing. awww.... i love dorky little filmmakers....

the rapture is opening for the polyphonics spree, 8/4. a must see.

the yyys webby sitey has tons and tons of pictures by nick up. i'm a huge fan of the yoda mousepad pic-sy. anyways, my friends told me that i needed to get new eyes when i told them i though brian was cute, like dorky cute. esp. when he's playing the drums. i really do have a thing for drummers.....

the music's new song is kinda ehhhh...... yeah...... i wasn't too impressed.

song of the WEEK (cos it's so good y'know): pass it on by the coral

    Every day I recognise
    What's deceased and what's alive
But don't repeat what I just said
    Until boulders turn to lead
Then all the tales will be told
Whilst you and I are in the cold
But don't think this is the end
Cos it's just begun my friend

    And when it's done
    And all this is gone
Just find a feeling pass it on

For every tear cried in shame
There'll be someone else to blame
And every crime that I commit
There'll be a punishement to fit
But I'd accept what's coming round
If I could only lose this sound
That's been ringing in my ears
    And tormenting me for years

    When it's done
And all of this is gone
Just find a feeling pass it on

    And when it's done
And all of this is gone
Just find a feeling pass it on
Just find a feeling pass it on
Just find a feeling pass it on
Just find a feeling pass it on

pic of the day: magic and medicine cover - i wonder if ian drew this???
