12.26.2003she came home for christmaswell, the christmas madness is over. christmas lasted for four days for me = lots of presents and lots of food which could be quite nice but not at the same time. josh burned me a copy of air's new album, talkie walkie, which is AMAZING. i'm in love with it. i lurrve cherry blossom girl and alpha beta gaga. and everytime i hear the mike mills song it makes me want to see the film reeeeaaaally bad. i'm so mad they are playing here. bah. so i did go to the so-called massive film fest nueva. and you know how i said i was going to have a heart attack when i got there.... yeah i did cos the first thing i see when i go in is ad green's jessica video projected on a fairly large screen. well, maybe i didn't have a heart attack but i screamed really loud. i was v. annoying. sorry josh. haha. so the place is setup where there's like 30 screens all together and each screen shows a different tape and loops. and you go up to the little projector thing and grab a headphone and sit on the floor and watch. so i ran and slid to grab a headphone and was happy. they gave you a huge list of all the films at the door which was lovely but there were tons to see and so little time. so me and josh sat and marked all the stuff we wanted to see which was about half the list. so we started with mcguiness' little film and went around. what i hated was we had to sit around and wait until what we wanted to see was actually showing which took forever. so we actually came at like 4pm and ended up staying til the end which was like 8 or 9pm. i saw adam's video like 10 timed literally cos everytime i turned to look at what was playing on that particular screen, it was always adam. but i guess i'll list some of the stuff that i liked cos i can't remember all of it. obviously spike's stuff. pity they didn't play it on the larger screens. the fisherspooner documentary. the juergen teller documentary. i didn't know the man looked like that but yeah, it was interesting. nick knight's installation. peep show by atom egoyan. jeremy scott's film. it had tori spelling into which was kinda cool. christopher mills' documentary. yuri a's animation. the funky squaredance viddy by roman. the documentary w/ the sock monkey. corine day's diary. a lot of the shorts on the last tv. melody mcdaniel's short. the todd oldham film. i was impressed cos i only knew that he made shoes. and of course the terry richardson whirlwind heat viddy. it was a lot of fun. i want all the tapes so i can watch it again and actually think about stuff cos it was kinda hard to do in that time frame and space. i was kinda saddened by the not so amused audience (consisting of one guys) watching mike's deformer who left like in 30 sec. but i saw a lot of people watching spike's stuff which made me really happy. aww. so yeah. british sea power and delays. they were tres brilliant. bsp is my new favourite band. i actually got to see them twice which made my bsp obsession even worse. carrion is such a gooooooooood song. tho i was kinda falling asleep the second nite cos they played at like 1am. they played a lot of songs which aren't on the album but they were really good as well. delyas are pretty but their music doesn't get me as much. i really want to be in bsp. i told yan that i'd play the tambourine and he siad i could join if i would be their flower girl as well. yay. yan is the new ian curtis. looks, stage presence, everything. he's so intense. and i love his voice. and he's really hilarious and cocky. tho i have a huge crush on hamilton. like i want to wear leaves in my hair and walk around picking flowers with him so that we can decorate helmets together. i luuurrrrrve you, hamils. i'm really determined to get a helmet now. and wood is a cutie too. they are all lovely lads. wood reminds me of john. seriously, it was one of the best shows this year. and they better come back again. or play in la, not at the spaceland. so apparently i'm working.... on new years and beyond for like 6 days. gay, i know. but it'll get me like $500, which is nice. i just finished knitting a hat w/ my mum watching robin hood. it's pink and white and fluffy. yay. oh and i saw gangaster no.1 avec paul bettany and malcolm mcdowell. classic. paul is so the new malcolm. his eyes just kill you. yet to see deadbabies and dogville. off to bed, tata. sweet dreams about hamilton and spike.
